Guidelines for hosting on book2trip

Become the perfect host by using these tips

Following these five main requirements helps you create the kind of stays guests expect of book2trip hosts.

Respond timely

Reliable and trustworthy hosts respond quickly when guests get in touch with them. book2trip response rate tracks how frequently and quickly you respond to booking requests and inquiries. Responding to these types of messages within 24 hours ensures a high response rate.

Accept booking requests

If your calendar shows you’re free, you’re expected to accept most booking requests. You’re advised to regularly update your listing’s availability to receive booking requests you can in fact accommodate.

Avoid frequent cancellations

book2trip does not tolerate frequent cancellations. We understand how booking plans are important to guests. Canceling a confirmed booking without prior notice will subject you to suspension.

Provide basic amenities

You’re required to provide the following amenities. Adding more amenities is, however, encouraged.

  • A towel per guest
  • A pillow per guest
  • Linens
  • Soap
  • Toilet paper

Get five-star reviews

To receive outstanding reviews, put the following into action:

  1. Clean & tidy space
  2. Accurate listing details
  3. Smooth check-in
  4. Effective communication

Clean & tidy space

Your space should be as clean and tidy as it shows in your listing photos. In case you have back-to-back bookings, make sure to have enough time to clean between guests.

The cleanliness of your space is rated by guests and appears on your listing page. Recurrent low cleanliness ratings may subject you to suspension.

  • Throw away trash, food, and any leftover items.
  • Thoroughly clean bedrooms, bathrooms, and the kitchen.
  • Make sure surfaces and floors are free of hair, dust, and mold.
  • Provide clean linens and towels for guests.
  • Make time for preparation between guests. You can always update your listing’s availability to block a night or two before bookings.
  • Hire a professional cleaning service and buy cleaning supplies for an extra fee.
  • Make cleaning supplies accessible to guests.

Accurate listing details

Providing clear information and details helps travelers find their perfect listing match. The accuracy of the information you provide is of high importance and affects your overall rating.

  • Provide an accurate address (include nearby landmarks).
  • Write a detailed description of your place.
  • Your listing and room type, number of bathrooms, and bedding details all should be accurate.
  • Upload high-quality photos and a video of your listing that fairly reflect the current state of your space.
  • Select only present and functioning amenities.
  • Make sure your house rules are covered in the amenities and suitability section (i.e. what is allowed or not like smoking, pets, etc.)
  • State clearly if there are parts of the listing guests are not allowed to access (e.g. garage or basement).
  • Be honest about unexpected problems that may arise during your guests’ stay (e.g. if the dishwasher often gets broken).

We advise the price per night you set matches your listing condition. An overpriced nightly rate may trick guests into thinking your listing is super luxurious. You might want to take a look at other listings in your area for reference pricing.

Smooth check-in

Arranging a smooth check-in for your guests after a tiring day of traveling is key to a pleasant stay.

  • Make sure your guests know the directions to your place.
  • Arrange a check-in time in advance if you plan to meet your guests in person.
  • In case your guests have a travel delay or any inquiries they should be able to contact you directly.

Effective communication

Your guests should be able to directly get in touch with you during their stay via phone or e-mail. Effective communication is part of the overall rating. It appears on your listing page and is assessed according to clarity and consistency.

  • Arrange check-in plans with your guests. If you won’t be receiving your guests in person, you can always send them a message at their check-in time to check up on them.
  • If you wish to cancel a booking, inform your guests in advance.
